Ukraine sees 17.3 million tonnes in grain exports in February 2013
Ukraine has supplied 17.3 million tonnes of grain to international markets since the beginning of the marketing year.
In particular, during the reporting period, 6.2 million tonnes of wheat were exported (including milling wheat - 5.2 million tonnes), 8.9 million tonnes of corn and almost two million tonnes of barley.
Exports of oil-bearing cultures over the designated period of 2012/2013 marketing year made up 2.2 million tonnes. In February alone, 1.1 million tonnes of grain crops were supplied to foreign markets and 242,100 tonnes of oil-bearing crops.
The Agricultural ministry expects 3%-5% of the planted for the 2013 harvest to be replanted, stated ministry's official Oleksandr Demydov.
According to him, the weather conditions are presently favorable to winter crops, 92% of hectares are in good or satisfactory condition, and only 8% of hectares are problematic.
