CropX and Syngenta collaborate to enhance farming sustainability in US Midwest
CropX Technologies and Syngenta are working together to enhance the sustainability and productivity of Syngenta's seed suppliers in the American Midwest, aiming to revolutionise digital farm management, Business Wire reported.
CropX's innovative agronomic farm management system collects real-time data from various sources like soil sensors, satellites, and on-farm machinery, utilising advanced analytics to provide growers with valuable insights into soil and crop health. Through an intuitive app, farmers can monitor irrigation, disease, and nutrient levels across multiple fields, simplifying management tasks.
Gilber Argenta, head of North America seed production and supply chain at Syngenta, emphasised the company's commitment to sustainability. Following successful trials of the CropX system in Nebraska and Illinois, Syngenta has decided to expand its implementation to more irrigated corn production acres in the Midwest.
Syngenta reported that the CropX system significantly reduced irrigation water usage during the trials, demonstrating tangible sustainability benefits and a strong return on investment. Argenta praised CropX's hardware and software for optimizsng irrigation and enhancing crop yields, enabling proactive water management, and improving overall crop health.
