Cobb-Vantress acquires new poultry facility in Texas
Cobb-Vantress has acquired a poultry facility in Texas in order to meet the increasing demand for Cobb products.
The Texas-based new facility, Timberlake Farm, will cover 108-hectares of land. The facility will be housing great grandparent flocks to supply grandparent needs for the US and distributors abroad.
The facility currently has 14 houses, although upgrades will be commenced shortly, which includes a new office and a shower facility in order to adhere to Cobb's biosecurity programme.
The facility is expected to be at full production capacity by 2009's autumn. The company plans to start housing the poultry by July 2008 and starting production in January 2009.
Cobb-Vantress is based in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in the US and is a leading supplier of broiler breeding stock and technical expertise for the chicken meat industry. Cobb serves the world's broiler industry in more than 90 countries.
