Vinamilk to export milk products to China

Vietnam's largest dairy producer will officially export its milk products to China, according to a report by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) via Xinhua.

Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Co. (Vinamilk) is the second Vietnamese dairy company after TH Milk Joint Stock Co. to export milk products to China.

As per report, Vinamilk will initially export the first batch of sweetened condensed milk and other condensed milk products to China.

Vietnam first announced the export of the country's milk products to China in October last year.

Meanwhile, Vinamilk's export turnover last year expanded 14.8% as compared with 2018, the VNA reported. Since 1997, its products have been shipped to more than 50 countries and territories, with total value surpassing US$2.2 billion.

The Middle East has become its most important overseas market, contributing more than 75% of the company's total export revenue, according to Vinamilk's executive director of international sales, Mai Hoai Anh.

However, the company has stepped up its operations in such markets as China, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries, he said, adding that Vinamilk earned the Asian Export Awards 2019.
