Estonia's January milk purchase price up 2.3%
 

 

Statistics Estonia said that the country's January average purchase price of raw milk was 2.3% higher than in December at EUR327.3 (US$438) per tonne.

 

In January 2011 a tonne of milk cost dairies an average of EUR312.6 (US$418.06), which means the purchase price has risen by 4.7% in annual comparison.

 

Dairy companies bought in January 53,700 tonnes of milk from farmers compared with the year-earlier 52,900 tonnes and 52,700 tonnes in December 2011.
