Thailand to export frozen chickens to Dubai soon

Dubai will import Thai frozen chicken this year as the two sides' authorities discuss the deal.

The Department of Export Promotion has consulted with Dubai's Minister of Environment and Water Resource on the imports of Thai frozen chicken. The Minister has stipulated a condition that the products must have a standard guarantee of being bird flu-free.

The Department would cooperate with relevant agencies to arrange for required documents to submit to Dubai as soon as possible. Department Director-General Srirat Rattapana said exports to Dubai could start this year, and that the Thai private sector is confident of its readiness to compete with rival poultry producers such as Brazil.
