Adisseo, a leading manufacturer of feed enzymes, is launching an innovative grant to support research that focuses on advancing the use of enzymes in animal nutrition.
The US$280,000 Rovabio Research Grant will reward three to five research programmes of one to two-years duration that are designed to offer new insights into feed formulation or feed intake and feed conversion or health benefits through the use of enzymes.
The Rovabio Research Grant, the first initiative of its kind, is available to scientists at universities and research institutes worldwide to conduct either basic or applied science. The research might, for instance, develop new insights on feed formulation with enzymes (e.g. combined NSPases and phytases approach) or feed intake and feed conversion, emphasise the different responses to enzyme supplementation between poultry and swine, or explore the potential health benefits of enzyme applications.
Applicants must have a Ph. D. and be supported by an academic institution with an appropriate mentorship. Applicants will be selected by a Scientific Committee of recognised scientists who work with feed enzymes.
Applications forms must be received by Adisseo by May 15, 2009. Application selection will be performed by the scientific committee from May to July 2009. The Laureates will be announced in August 2009.
