New mad cow case reported in Poland
 

 

Poland has detected another case of mad cow disease, veterinary authorities said Wednesday, bringing the number of reported mad cow cases in the country to 40.

 

The new case, found in a western province in Poland, was confirmed during a test before the cows were slaughtered.

 

Veterinary authorities have assured the public that all beef entering the market had passed veterinary tests and was safe.

 

Poland reported its first mad cow case in 2002.
