Argentina's 03-04 Wheat Crop Totals 14 Million MT
 
Argentina's farmers have harvested 14 million metric tons of 2003-04 wheat, according to an estimate released Monday by the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange.
 
This puts the size of the crop up measurably from a year ago, when output totaled 12.6 million tons, according to the exchange data.
 
The latest estimate for the crop, which has been completely collected, shows that planted area totaled 5.83 million hectares, of which 5.475 million were harvested.
 
The average yield was a greater-than-expected 2.56 tons per hectare.
