Overall ASF cases involving Germany's wild boar stand at 685
Five months after the first outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in the wild boar population in Germany, a total of 685 cases have been confirmed according to the TierSeuchenInformationsSystem (TSIS).
There are currently a total of 35 confirmed ASF cases in Saxony (Görlitz district) and 650 in the state of Brandenburg. The number of ASF cases are broken down as followed:
- Spree-Neiße district: 50
- Oder-Spree district: 390
- Märkisch-Oderland district: 210
To date, domestic pig populations in Germany have remained free of ASF.
