Ukraine to increase cattle numbers in 2014

 

 

Ukraine will increase cattle figures by almost 2% in 2014, compared to early 2013, according to the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine.

 

The ministry said that the growth would mainly come from private households (2.4% growth). At agricultural companies, cattle numbers will rise by 1%, to 1.5 million.

 

The ministry said that in 2012, cattle numbers at all categories of households grew by 1.8%, to 4.5 million.

 

As reported, referring to the State Statistics Service, cattle numbers in Ukraine as of February 1, 2013 came to 4.7 million, a rise of 4.5% over-year.
