Russian seaport ships 570,000 tonnes of grain
The general turnover of cargoes of Russia's Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port totalled 13.8 million tonnes in January 2012, up 900,000 tonnes or 6.9% compared with January 2011, reported the press-release of the Group.
In January 2012, the volume of grain shipment totalled 0.57 million tonnes.
According to Rado Antolovich, Deputy General Director of sales and marketing of the group of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, the weather conditions in Novorossiysk had a significant effect for the results in January.
During the month, the port eight times declared a storm warning of the total duration of over 12 days. The last time the similar weather conditions were observed in December 1997.
