Croatia's US$637 million initiative to drive growth of dairy industry

Croatia has approved a €592.5 million (US$637 million) programme aimed at bolstering the local dairy sector until 2030.
The initiative focuses on three key objectives: increasing the number of cows, sheep, and goats in milk production, enhancing milk production productivity, and ensuring the availability and sufficiency of production capacity.
Agriculture Minister Marija Vuckovic disclosed the details during a weekly cabinet session, stating that funding for the programme would mainly come from the state budget, with the European Union serving as its primary source.
The Croatian state budget for 2024 has allocated €60.9 million (US$66 million) for this strategy, with an additional €80.8 million (US$87 million) earmarked for the following year.
