Ukraine to re-plant 3-5% of winter grain crops this year
Ukraine will have to re-plant 3-5% of winter grain crops from the general planted areas of 8.1 million hectares for this year's harvest.
According to Alexander Demidov, director of the department of farming agriculture of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on February 19, he noted that 2012 re-planted winter grain areas were throughout 1.5 million hectares.
Demidov said that in the current year there are mostly favourable weather conditions to form the future harvest of winter grains. According to him, to date 92% of the crops areas are in good and satisfactory condition.
