Russia expects 2012 average purchase milk price at US$0.47/kilogramme
Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik said Monday (Feb 20) that Russia's average purchase price of raw milk in 2012 is expected to amount to RUB14 (US$0.47) per kilogramme, flat on the year.
The indicative price band is also expected to stay within RUB12–16 (US$0.40-0.54) per kilogramme, she added.
Soyuzmoloko, a national union of dairy products producers, expects milk consumption in Russia to increase this year, despite the drop in dynamics observed in 2011, Andrei Danilenko, chairman of the union's management board, separately said.
"We expect that we can increase dairy products consumption this year, and stability of prices is to encourage it," Danilenko said.
