Japan's compound feed output on December down 2 percent
Japan reported that its compound feed in December fell by 2 percent from the previous year to 2.33 million tonnes.
The Ministry of Agriculture said on Wednesday that compound feed output rose 0.9 percent in November from a year earlier to 2.14 million tonnes.
Corn is the traditional feed component in Japan. The country secures almost all its corn for feed use from abroad, with imports reaching around 12 million tonnes every year.
Japan presently ranks as the largest corn importer.
