South Dakota's corn output hikes 36%
The value of South Dakota's corn production for last year was boosted by higher market prices.
The USDA estimates the value of corn for grain was up 36% from 2010 to US$3.95 billion.
Soy was valued at US$1.72 billion, and hay was valued at one billion.
The wheat crop was valued at US$799.5 million and alfalfa hay was valued at US$793.1 million.
Crop values are determined by multiplying the average market price by total production.
