Russia beef output down

Russia produced 13,000 tonnes of beef in January, 0.5% less than the same month in 2009 and 30% less than in December 2009, the state statistics committee reported Thursday (Feb 18).

Pork output in January was 2,500 tonnes, 25.8% less than in January 2009 and 32.1% less than in December 2009.

Poultry output in January was 214,000 tonnes, 19.6% more than in January 2009 and 8.4% less than in December 2009.
