Ukraine's Myronivskyi increases poultry output by 8 percent in H2 2008
                          


Kyiv-based Myroniskyi Khliboprodukt, the largest poultry producer in Ukraine, increased poultry meat output by 8.2 percent to 105,000 tonnes in the second half of 2008.

 

The company increased chicken meat production in the third quarter by 18 percent to 52,000 tonnes, and up again to 53,000 tonnes in the fourth quarter.

 

During the third quarter, the average price for chicken up reached UAH13.04 per kg and in the fourth quarter UAH11.6 per kg.

 

In the first half of 2008, the company produced 110,000 tonnes of poultry meat, up 50 percent on-year. For the whole of 2008, the company produced 215,000 tonnes of chicken meat, up 26 percent as compared with 2007.

 

Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt has also opened a joint-stock company, a vertically integrated complex consisting of 20 enterprises that produce fodder and incubation eggs, breed cattle and chickens, and process and sell ready products.
