Aviagen backs Malaysian poultry guidebook

Aviagen® recently sponsored the 2026 reprint of the "Guidebook on the Malaysian Poultry Industry – The Way Forward."
The document serves as a reference for policymakers, academics, and industry participants, supporting coordinated development across the sector.
The book was launched at a seminar organised by MPC and the Agro-Food Productivity Nexus (AFPN), in collaboration with the Federation of Livestock Farmers' Associations of Malaysia (FLFAM), in Kuala Lumpur on Jan. 22, 2026. Over 100 poultry industry stakeholders, including integrators, farmers, feed millers, suppliers, and government representatives, attended the event titled "Transforming the Poultry Industry Through Productivity, Technology, and Talent."
Delivering transparency to stakeholders
Aviagen fulfilled their commitment to transparency via a virtual presentation titled "Poultry Breeding for Better Performance and Disease Prevention," delivered by Dominic Elfick, Marketing Manager for Aviagen Asia Pacific. The presentation outlined Aviagen's balanced breeding approach, emphasising sustainable traits, bird welfare, and long-term performance as key pillars of resilient poultry production.
Aviagen strategies gets Malaysian endorsement
Additionally, Aviagen said that it was honored to be cited as an industry-leading example of compartmentalisation by the Department of Veterinary Services, which encouraged wider adoption of this process that recognises common management and biosecurity measures across a group of production units.
Compartmentalisation enables international trade to continue in the event of a notifiable disease outbreak.
Dr. Keat Fu, Senior Technical Services Veterinarian for Aviagen Asia, was present to represent Aviagen at the event, along with other team members. He noted that attendees took the opportunity to interact with the Aviagen group, and their feedback indicated that the company's approach to sustainable performance, welfare-focused breeding, and industry collaboration was warmly received by Malaysian industry representatives.
