Big Dutchman will be introducing several of their swine and poultry innovations during this year's VIV Asia in Bangkok at March 11-13.

 

Big Dutchman will be introducing OptiSep and CALLMATIC 2 for swine, while poultry innovations will include GatherEze+, FLEX, Avimax and EggCam.

 

The spiral filter press OptiSep is a milestone in the development of separators for swine liquid manure. Contrary to conventional systems, the new filter press separates solids and liquids extremely reliably at a cut point of just 0.1 mm. Unlike the usually horizontally arranged spiral shafts, the spiral of OptiSep runs vertically and does not work against any resistance.

 

As a result, the energy consumption is very low and there will be no leakage of unseparated slurry.

 

OptiSep is composed of few components and is robust and insensitive to disturbances.

 

CALLMATIC 2 is an electronic sow feeding system for sows in group housing which has been further developed. The system supplies feed in precisely controlled quantities based on the requirement of the individual sows.

 

The individual feeding results in a better sow condition and more healthy pigs per sow. CALLMATIC 2 is also equipped with a new exit gate which reduces the maintenance requirements.

 

GatherEze+ is a newly developed laying nest which is especially well-suited for broiler breeders. GatherEze+ features individual nest holes which allow every hen to lay her eggs undisturbed. The eggs gently roll into a central egg channel and are automatically transported from the barn by means of an egg belt. The nest roof is made of sheet metal and allows easy access of the egg belt for inspection.

 

During night time, all nest holes are closed off by a tube to ensure that the hens cannot sleep inside the nest. Another highlight is that nest floor and substrucutre below the egg belt consist of corrosion-proof Galfan wire mesh for extended service life. 

 

FLEX is a new air inlet that trend towards larger and wider poultry houses. FLEX is characterised by a flexible choice of inlet sizes and it is possible to install different air rates adapted to different house dimensions.

 

Another advantage of the new FLEX air inlet is that the upper frame profile is integrated in the airflow duct which makes for sophisticated aerodynamics and thus a stable air stream.

 

The further developed broiler cage Avimax 150 transit has an easy-to-use tilting floor that facilitates the moving-out process. The tilting floor system allows for a low overall height of the installation while providing maximum headroom in the bird area. This allows higher stocking densities, low building and energy costs and optimum air exchange throughout the entire installation.

 

EggCam is a brand new egg counter which can achieve a counting precision of 100 percent. The system's camera technology also checks the eggs for dirt on the surface already in the barn.

 

At the same time, EggCam measures the eggs and assigns them to different weight categories.
