South Korea To Buy Brazilian Chickens
A South Korean delegation is set to head for Brazil later in February to discuss poultry deals.
Last week, Brazil's agriculture minister revealed that South Korea will purchase 50,000 tonnes of Brazilian chicken cuts. The announcement follows the outbreak of bird flu in a number of key chicken exporting Asian markets and the subsequent banning of chicken imports from these countries.
In 2003, Brazil exported 1.9 million tonnes of chicken worth US$1.8 billion.
