UK firms signs fish farming cage agreement worth US$7.1 million
Aqualine AS, in Norway and Marine Harvest Ltd, in Scotland have signed a framework agreement worth around US$7.1 million for delivery of up to 134 plastic cages for fish farming.
The cages are to be supplied over a period of 18 months.
Marine Harvest Scotland has signed an agreement with Salmar ASA worth US$4.2 million.
For Aqualine AS, this is a new record both in terms of one individual order internationally and one individual order nationally.
Aqualine AS managing director Trond Lysklatt said the main factors that Marine Harvest referred to for choosing them are their products and excellent co-operation over several years.
In Scotland, the net cage systems are fitted at Aqualine AS base in Kishorn, Scotland.
The assembly of the first plastic collars started early in January 2009. The equipment is designed according to documented and certified systems, NS9415, with plastic floating collars featuring our secondary safety system against escape, sinker tubes and big hamster wheels as bird net stands.
Lysklatt added that the deliveries to Salmar ASA are constructed in modern facilities at Froya in addition to the fact that a great part of the delivery is assembled in North Norway.
