Cargill considers building fodder plant in Russia's Rostov region
Cargill is deciding on building a fodder plant in Russia's Rostoy region, said Vyacheslav Vasilenko, the region's agriculture and food minister on Feb 15.
Commenting on recent talks with the company, he said the regional government has asked Cargill to supply fodder for dairy cattle. This is because most large fodder plants in the region are no longer in operation.
The regional government hopes Cargill will not focus on agricultural product trading in the region. Instead, it hopes Cargill will invest more in production, Vasilenko said.
He added that Cargill will continue talks with the regional government on building the plant in March.
