Betagro builds US$31-million feed mill in Thailand

The Betagro Group has started building a US$31-million feed mill in Thailand, hoping to fill rising local demand for quality animal feed.

Construction is expected to be completed late this year.

The feed mill will start operations in early 2016,initially producing 4,000 tonnes a month which will be supplied to farms, vet clinics and other trade outlets.

Later, it is projected tomanufacture original equipment and produce for export markets.

Currently, Thailand needsat least 14,800 tonnesof animal feed monthly, said ChayanonKittayachaweng, a Betagrogroup executive, citing a report byEuromonitor International.
