Hotraco Agri updates on its latest developments

In this short update, Hotraco Agri shares with eFeedLink its latest product developments, its entry into the US poultry market, and what customers can look forward to in 2021.

eFeedLink : Over the course of the past year, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hotraco Agri introduced a number of remote, digital services for poultry and swine producers. Please tell us more.

Hotraco Agri : In these COVID-10 times, we have introduced new innovations and products on online channels. We introduced our new Thomas® Feed controller for pig farmers and our Fortica® system (together with our SyslinQ remote app) for poultry farmers. In presenting these improved systems, we create engaging online content like videos, 3D animation and high-resolution pictures. We believe farmers like to see content like this, as they can visualise what these systems can do for their business.

eFeedLink: In April 2020, Hotraco Agri announced that its Fortica automation system had been expanded to include the imperial system of units. The step marks the entry of the company into the US poultry market. Please tell us more.

Hotraco Agri: Yes indeed, this development together with our many years of experience and knowhow in cage-free poultry housing, makes us ready for the US poultry market. Fortica is a highly user-friendly and universal poultry automation system. It controls all barn processes from one single system and supports the imperial units of measurement. This all-in-one system is also suitable for all types of broilers, layers, breeders and pullets. The full touchscreen operation makes this system very easy to operate. It greatly simplifies the work of poultry farmers and give them better production results.

eFeedLink: As customers transition towards antibiotic elimination, please share with us more how Hotraco Agri is supporting them by enabling the early identification of diseased animals.

Hotraco Agri: Yes, we have perfect tools to determine animal diseases at an early stage. We do this through automatic control and registration of feed and water intake, animal weight and egg production, among other things. Our advanced systems give farmers 24/7 insight into their animals' feed and water intake. This is important, because changes in feed or water intake can serve as an indicator of animal health: sick animals generally eat less and drink more. With automatic registration of feeding and drinking behaviour, abnormalities can be detected at an early stage and any animal diseases can be quickly detected and effectively contained. Automatic feed control also ensures a very gradual transition to a new type of feed for the animals, which prevents common intestinal problems.

eFeedLink: What updates might Hotraco Agri wish to share with our readers, looking ahead into 2021?

Hotraco Agri: In 2021 we continue to develop and improve our top-quality products and systems. We would present a renewed dry feed controller for pig farming. Thomas Feed will be the most advanced pig feeding controller in the world. For the poultry market we would be coming up with some great products for the US. And we are developing our Puck Duemens, content manager, Hotraco Agri proven Fortica system with new functionalities. Besides that we are developing great new products for egg producers worldwide, which we would announce in due course.

Last year, Hotraco Agri exhibited at Midwest Poultry Federation Virtual Trade Show & Covention in the US, but we miss the personal touch. We can't wait to see our customers, friends and everyone in the agribusiness soon in real life!
