South America to have record corn crops
With good rains across much of South America, Brazil and Argentina could bring in record corn harvest in 2006-07.
Brazil's projected crop is 46 million tonnes, according to industry news. Projected harvest area and yield per acre are up as well, and although harvest area is not expected to reach record levels, yield per acre is set to exceed 2002's previous record.
Corn production in Argentina is projected at 21 million tonnes, also with increased harvested area and yields per acre.
