Canada allows Shenzhen firms' poultry exports
The Canadian government has released a list of Chinese heat processing poultry meat firms that were registered in Canada, the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau announced on February 13.
Eleven Chinese enterprises appear on the list, including Keystone Foods. These companies can export poultry meat products to Canada, which means that Shenzhen poultry meat products have successfully entered into North American market.
This successful registration is of great importance to China poultry meat export. First, it opens a new market for Chinese poultry meat products. China produces over 15 million tonnes of poultry meat every year and exports less than 400,000 tonnes , only 2% of the total. According to data from Statistics Canada, the nation's poultry meat consumption per capita has doubled within the past 20 years, making Canadian annual poultry consumption over one million tonnes . Next, it lays foundation for entering to the US market of Chinese poultry meat.
