Marfrig's beef exports to Russia unimpeded by ban on Mato Grosso
Brazilian meatpacker, Marfrig, announced that beef shipments heading to Russia would not be halted by the current ban on Mato Grosso exports.
The company clarified that it would not be affected with the ban as its beef will come from other states in Brazil.
On Monday, Russia announced the suspension of beef imports from Mato Grosso after cattle with Vesicular Stomatitis disease were found, the Brazilian Beef Exporters' Association (Abiec) said.
Marfrig stated that export requirements to Russia will be fully met from other units in other states, while shipments to other countries will proceed as normal.
