Nor Fishing Foundation accepts applications for 2019 Innovation Award

Norway's Nor Fishing Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2019 Innovation Award, which Scotland-based Ace Aquatec won in 2017.

Eligible to apply are commercial companies and individuals from all over the world that supply equipment or services to the aquaculture industry, or are in the aquaculture industry.

The winner will receive NOK100,000 (US$11,544), and will be announced Aug. 20, when the four-day Aqua Nor 2019 opens in Trondheim.

The board of the Nor-Fishing Foundation has seen it fit to give the award to a Norwegian or foreign company or individual for the best project in the aquaculture industry because commercial companies and individuals have less access to financial support than the large research institutions. The board hopes that this will stimulate more innovation in the commercial sector.

The application deadline is May 1, 2019.
