Quiet market holds China lysine prices flat

Lysine prices were unchanged during the week ending February 1.

Trade was light during the last week of January as China prepared for the celebration of Chinese New Year. Producers were not eager to cut prices knowing that demand would be sluggish with buyers halting operation.

For imported 98.5-percent lysine, transacted prices were in the range of RMB9.90-10.30/kg.

After the one-week hiatus in early February, livestock demand will remain soft. Lysine sales are unlikely to improve with the livestock markets underperforming and buyers treading prudently.
