India's oilmeal exports to Iran declined drastically by 70.31% to 322,091 tonnes during the period April 2014 to January 2015 from 1.08 million tonnes in the previous period, the Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEAI) said.
The SEAI said deliveries to Iran included 180,300 tonnes of soybean meal and 141,791 tonnes of rapeseed meal.
Taiwan also witnessed a fall in imports from the South Asian country-61,142 tonnes of oilmeals were brought in (April '14-January '15) including 30,897 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 22,685 tonnes of castor meal and 7,560 tonnes of soybean. From April 2013 to January 2014, the volume was a higher at 104,824 tonnes.
South Korea also saw lower imports of 730,571 tonnes (April '14-January '15) compared with 901,661 tonnes in April 2013 to January 2014. The latest deliveries included 426,874 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 301,639 tonnes of castor meal and 2,058 tonnes of soybean meal, SEAI said.
As to India's oilmeal imports from other countries, deliveries from Thailand were down to 189,026 tonnes (April '14-January '15), compared with 307,704 tonnes from April 2013 to January 2014. These included 181,762 tonnes of rapeseed meal and 7,264 tonnes of soybean meal.
India's oilmeal imports from Vietnam were, however, higher at 244,422 tonnes (April '14-January '15), compared with 183,236 tonnes in April 2013 to January 2014. The deliveries included 57,555 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 17,927 tonnes of soybean meal, 1,186 tonnes of groundnut meal and 167,754 tonnes of deoiled rice bran extraction.
