More than 2000 poultry culled in at Sichuan, China due to H5N6 bird flu
China's agriculture ministry said the H5N6 strain of avian flu was discovered at a poultry farm in Sichuan, southwest China, reported Reuters.
This is the first positive H5N6 avian flu case reported on a poultry farm. The previous four H5N6 detections this year were discovered in swans.
1,840 birds at the farm had died from the virus, with the remaining 657 birds culled to prevent the virus from spreading, said the ministry.
