Ukraine's customs service banned pork imports from Russian Vladimir Oblast
Ukraine's State Customs Service has f Ukraine has barred imports of pig breeding products from Vladimir Oblast of Russian Federation, LigaBusinessInform news agency reported.
The reason for this is the discovery of a dangerous pig disease - classical pig plague - in the Suzdal Raion of Vladimir Oblast, according to a corresponding letter of Customs Service, stating an official report of International Epizootic Bureau.
The Ukrainian authorities have responded by prohibiting the import of pigs, pork, pig products and raw materials from this region of Russia.
Classical pig plague is a viral disease, having 80 to 100 percent lethality rate.
