Mexico's 2011 meat supplies to Russia rise to 28,500 tonnes
Mexico's Ministry of Agriculture said that the country's 2011 meat supplies to Russia soared to 28,500 tonnes from 3,800 tonnes in 2010, the news reported Thursday (Feb 9).
Beef supplies amounted to more than 24,600 tonnes, while horse meat supplies amounted to almost 4,000 tonnes.
Currently, 17 Mexican firms supply meat to Russia.
The ministry said it expected meat supplies to Russia to further increase in 2012.
