India's oilmeal exports rise 17% up to January 2012
During April 2011-January 2012, the oilmeal exports of India have jumped 17% to 4.419 million tonnes on good Kharif crop and depreciating rupee, according to Solvent Extractors' Association of India.
Oilmeals include soymeal, rapeseed meal, Groundnut meal and ricebran extract.
The major importers include Japan (1,067,207 tonnes), Vietnam (786,595 tonnes), South Korea (609,883 tonnes), China (348,970 tonnes) and Europe (259,568 tonnes).
In Inter-Continental Exchange (ICE), the soymeal for March delivery traded at US$3.277 on February 4.
