China suspends chicken imports from two meatpacking plants in Brazil
According to a statement on China's General Administration of Customs website, chicken imports have been suspended from two meatpacking plants in Brazil, The Rio Times reported.
The two plants are a unit of Bello Alimentos (brand name Frango Bello) from Itaquirai municipality, Mato Grosso do Sul state, and a plant of Sao Salvador Alimentos (brand name Super Frango), in Itaberaí municipality, central Goiás state.
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed the suspensions.
China has suspended meat imports from several countries since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
