Board of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina UA appoints new chair

The board of dairy cooperative Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina UA has appointed Erwin Wunnekink as its new chair with effect from June 16.

Current chair Frans Keurentjes has decided to step down from that date. Sandra Addink-Berendsen will fill in the position of vice-chair.

"The cooperative will start with a new governance, and the company is currently accelerating the implementation of its strategy. I am proud of what we have achieved together in the cooperative in these recent, turbulent years, even though it was not always easy, said Keurentjes.

"Examples are the cooperative vision "The Merits of Milk," the steps we took to make FrieslandCampina and the dairy sector more sustainable and the way we entered into a constructive dialogue with each other. What will stay with me the most are the personal conversations about the major challenges we face as a sector and what we, as a cooperative, can do for our members in this regard."

Keurentjes has been a member of the board of FrieslandCampina and the supervisory board of Royal FrieslandCampina NV since December 2006. He has been chair since December 20, 2016.

Wunnekink, who has been a member of the cooperative's board and the supervisory board since December 2009, was appointed vice-chair in December 2016.
