Aviagen vice president of welfare to head International Poultry Council's working group

Anne-Marie Neeteson, Aviagen Group's global vice president of welfare and compliance, has been elected to chair the Working Group (WG) on Animal Health and Welfare of the International Poultry Council (IPC).

Neeteson joins Shraddha Kaul of the British Poultry Council and Erica Charlton of the Canadian Poultry and Egg Processing Council who will lead the Communication and Food Safety and Processing Working Groups, respectively. IPC president Robin Horel said that the new WG chairs are longstanding, active members known for their "skills and professionalism."

Aviagen is a longtime associated member of the IPC, with the company's CEO, Jan Henriksen, recently affirming Aviagen's commitment to the IPC and putting the United Nations' five Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the IPC into practice. "I congratulate Anne-Marie on her appointment to this important IPC committee. Aviagen and the IPC share a dedication to put food on every table of families around the globe in a way that is sustainable for the planet and its people," said Henriksen.

"I am honored to be a part of this WG, and look forward to working together with the WG members and the industry in general to further the cause of poultry health and welfare, communication among industry shareholders and associations, and food quality and security for consumers around the world," said Neeteson.
