Australia to invest in Biosecurity Training Centre
Australia is investing in the national Biosecurity Training Centre, which will help prevent exotic pests and diseases from entering the country, thus protecting domestic agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries.
Starting July 1, the centre will offer training programmes for biosecurity officers. The centre will consist of a central hub with networked training facilities around Australia.
It will also help contribute to research to improve and adapt the nation's biosecurity system to meet new and emerging threats.
