Bird flu attacks Vietnam's Soc Trang province
 

 

The state media reported Monday (Feb 6) that the third province in the Southeast Asian country to be under attack of bird flu is Vietnam's southern province of Soc Trang.

 

The disease was reported to infect a flock of 400 chickens in My Xuyen district's Ngoc Dong commune, the newspaper said.

 

The provincial Animal Health Department are applying measures to stop the disease from breaking out while the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Animal Health Department granted two million antibiotic doses against the bird flu for animal vaccination in the province.

 

Earlier, one man working in a Soc Trang province's poultry slaughtering facility died after infected with A/H5N1.

 

Earlier, the bird flu was reported to reoccur in central provinces of Quang Tri and Thanh Hoa.
