Denmark's milk quality getting better

Danish Knowledge Centre for Agriculture (Videncentret for Landbrug/VFL) said that the quality of milk produced in Denmark is good, and improving.

The goal of a cell count below 220,000, settled in 2009, was scheduled to be reached by 2013, but has already been reached. Now a new, even lower goal is to be decided, according to VFL's Trine Barrett.

A reason behind the success is good co-operation between consultants and farmers, she says, adding that contrary to before, the focus is less on milk quantity and more on improving milk quality and animal welfare.
