Thailand culls anthrax-infected pigs in northwest province
Thailand's Department of Livestock in the northwestern province of Mae Hong Son had culled 23 anthrax-infected pigs in order to stop the disease from spreading further.
The Department had announced the municipal areas of district Khun Yuam as epidemic zone since January 30, as a number of pigs in a farm in the district were found to be infected with the Anthrax disease, said Chamlong Ariya, an officer at the Department.
The farm has been placed under quarantine.
Chamlong has urged the public to immediately notify the Department or health authority if similar cases were found in their areas.
