World Aquaculture 2025 in China cancelled, event now shifts to India
The China Society Fisheries (CSF) has cancelled the World Aquaculture 2025 event, which was originally scheduled for April 24-27, 2025, in Qingdao, China.
In response to this development, World Aquaculture Society (WAS) has made the decision to move the event to India and replace it with World Aquaculture India, which will take place on November 10-13, 2025, ensuring that the event will continue in a new location.
Despite the challenges posed by the change, WAS expressed its commitment to ensuring a successful event.
"We believe it is a positive development, and it is the right time to return to India after our first successful experience," it said.
World Aquaculture 2025 INDIA will take place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre – Novotel.
With aquaculture continuing to grow rapidly in the Asian-Pacific region and particularly in India, the 2025 event is a good time for the global aquaculture community to focus on India again at Hyderabad, WAS said.
Hyderabad plays an important role in India's maritime development with its advanced marine economy, robust marine industry and strong foundation in marine fishery, marine equipment manufacturing, and marine transportation.
According to WAS, all previous abstracts submitted to WA2025 China will continue to be processed by a Program Committee and all registrations will continue to be valid.
The abstract submission deadline has been extended to August 31, 2025.
