New managing director appointed for BioMar joint venture

The BioMar Viet Uc joint venture in Vietnam will be headed by newly appointed managing director Duong Anh Tu, who has extensive commercial experience from the feed and food sector in Asia.

Tu's appointment is effective this month.

He has experiences with the management of commercial development, especially within the Vietnamese animal nutrition industry. He had also served with local and international companies, including Olam Global Agri and Cargill.

BioMar has, during the past years, created a strong global market position within the shrimp feed segment, positioning innovative grower feed solutions as well as high-end hatchery feed among market leading products. Its new product portfolio has a strong potential to help Vietnamese farmers in the current situation of adverse market conditions, the company said.

"We have chosen Duong Anh Tu to lead the next phase of our growth of the shrimp feed business in Vietnam," said Francois Loubere, vice president of BioMar Asia. "He has a proven ability to lead the development of innovative solutions for the local markets, and we are sure he will be a strong asset for the organisation as well as for the customers."

Tu will replace Franck Bodin, who was appointed to launch the business in Vietnam and has been instrumental in establishing the BioMar Viet Uc feed brand in the local market.
