China lysine prices plummet 13% since December; producers stand firm

Lysine prices stabilised during the week ending February 5.

Demand was tepid as most buyers have stocked lysine inventories in preparation for the long Chinese New Year holidays during the second half of February. Meanwhile export orders remained limited due to a strong renminbi. However, producers stood firm as prices have plunged 13% since mid-December.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine were at RMB4.60-4.80 /kg.
