Israel announces three Newcastle disease outbreaks
Three new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Hadarom have been reported by the Israeli veterinary authorities.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 9 on Thursday (Feb 2). The affected population comprises three-week-old broilers and 30-week-old table egg layers.
Out of 179,000 susceptible birds, approximately 13,000 cases were identified. A total of 2,660 deaths were recorded, and 168,500 birds were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
