Spanish firm plans biofuel production in Bulgaria
Spanish firm Ferry Group plans to invest EUR 42 million (US$54.68 million) over the next three years to produce biomass-derived fuel in Bulgaria, according to the Bulgarian investment agency.
The firm also has plans of setting up a bioenergy plant to process biomass from paulownia trees it plans to plant near the town of Trun, in western Bulgaria, the agency said in a statement.
Several Bulgarian companies would start work on biofuel plants with a combined annual capacity of over 400,000 tonnes using mainly sunseed, rapeseed and soyoil.
