2025 results of listed Chinese pig producers released: Who are the real winners amid sluggish pig prices?
As 2025 came to a close, domestic listed pig producers released their 2025 operating data.
Based on the latest disclosures, the top 10 companies by annual pig sales volume are Muyuan Foods, Wen's Foodstuffs Group, New Hope Group, Dekang Agriculture & Animal Husbandry, Zhengbang Technology, Tianbang Food, COFCO Joycome, Xinwufeng, Tangrenshen Group, and Giant Star Agriculture & Animal Husbandry.
Twenty-two listed pig producers sold 205 million pigs
In 2025, the 22 listed pig producers that have disclosed data sold a combined approximately 205 million pigs, representing a year-on-year increase of about 20.57%.
Using 2024's national pig slaughter volume of 703 million head as a reference, these listed companies accounted for around 29% of total national output.
Among them, Muyuan Foods, Wen's Foodstuffs, and New Hope remain firmly in the top three, jointly contributing around 136 million head, accounting for more than 66% of total sales by listed pig producers. The scale advantage of industry giants remains pronounced.
Despite ongoing capacity reduction efforts, the production capacity of major producers has continued to grow.
As breeding sow inventories remain on the decline, pig sales volumes in 2026 are expected to fluctuate, with a potential recovery in pig prices once capacity control targets are achieved.
