USPOULTRY Foundation awards US$29,133 recruiting grant to Mississippi State University

The USPOULTRY Foundation recently awarded a US$29,133 student recruiting grant to Mississippi State University, one of six universities in the United States that has a department dedicated to poultry science, USPOULTRY announced last month.

Dr. Ken Macklin, department head and professor of the Department of Poultry Science, intends to utilise the funds to strengthen recruiting efforts. He will also use the funds to interact with local high schools and community colleges to encourage students to consider poultry science and the various career opportunities available in the poultry industry.

The USPOULTRY Foundation board approved student recruiting grants totaling US$297,580 to 26 colleges and universities across the US with a poultry science department or industry-related degree programme.
